As a Premium Hospital member you receive up to 100% cover at over 460 private hospitals, day hospital facilities in addition to all recognised public hospitals across Australia. That means no upfront costs and no excess when you're admitted to hospital.

Private Hospital and Day Facility Accommodation
Up to 100% cover for shared and private rooms for contracted services.

Public Hospital Accomodation
100% of the cost of a shared or private room accommodation in a recognised public hospital with a doctor of your choice.

Medical Gap Benefits
Services rendered during a hospital stay are subject to two benefit types, either Gap Medical or Access Gap.

Up to 100% of the contracted fee charged for the following services:

  • Theatre Fees
  • Labour Ward Fees
  • Intensive Care
  • High Dependency Care
  • Critical Care
  • Advanced Dependency Units

Prosthetic Appliances
Up to 100% of the minimum Government recommended fee, towards the cost of surgically implanted prosthetic appliances.

Disposables
Up to 100% of the cost or the rate as specified within the hospital contract for approved disposable items used in a surgical procedure which warrants use of such devices.

Pharmacy
Up to 100% of the cost or to the levels specified within the individual hospital contract. This excludes drugs and dressings supplied on discharge and those not specifically related to the hospital admission.

Psychiatric
Up to 100% of the contracted fee charged. Please not - benefits are paid as per Navy Health's agreements with individual hospitals, up to applicable limits. We suggest contacting Navy Health prior to admission to determine if there will be any out of pocket expenses.

Outpatient Theatre
100% of the fee up to $130 os payable towards an approved Navy Health surgical / operating facility.

Podiatry Surgery
Limited benefits are available when Podiatric Surgery is performed in a contracted hospital by an Australian Government Accredited Podiatrist. For further information please call Navy Health on 1300 306 289.

Early Release Home Nursing
Up to $60 per day and up to $1,000 per person per year, where a patient is released into a Navy Health approved early release home nursing program following a period of in-hospital treatment.

Private Hospital Accident and Emergency Facility Fees
100% of the fee up to $60 per attendance for the facility fee at a private hospital accident and emergency centre. A limit of three treatments per person per benefit year applies.

Member Support Program
If you elect to leave hospital early to recover at home, provided it is considered medically appropriate, you may be eligible to receive a range of support services in your home.

Ambulance Services
100% of the fee for all ambulance services within Australia provided that the service is from a State / Territory registered ambulance service.
